Injury Prevention - ANkles

 

 

 

As Irish dancers, we all know what it feels like to get an injury. Here are some of my tips and tricks to injury prevention! I will also include some videos with preventitive stretching!

 

Ankle sprains are common for dancers. One way I prevent a sparin is by taping my ankle. I usually use KT tape. The video below to the left is a KT tape tutorial and the video below to the right is using regular medical tape. This is a cheaper alternative. 

Another important step to strengthen the major and minor muscles in the area you are trying to protect. This is best done by doing exercises and stretching that area. Below are some videos to watch that will help with this.
